Joan Cecelia Ball, of Oceanport, born in Newark, NJ on November 5, died at the age of 85 on Friday, April 20, 2018. Joan passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family, to join her husband, Donald, who passed away 5 months ago. Joan was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Donald Ball, her parents, George and Albertina Koelzer, her brother, George Koelzer and her twin sister, Jean Reagan. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Ken Cuttler, her loving grandsons, Ryan and Michael Cuttler, her sister, Katherine Kerris, her brother, Robert Koelzer and his wife, Elizabeth, her sister-in-law, Gloria Ball and many nieces, nephews and treasured friends. Born and raised in Newark, NJ, Joan graduated from St. Michael’s Hospital School of Nursing. She was a dedicated and hardworking nurse who retired from Riverview Medical Center. She was dedicated to giving to others even after retiring, volunteering at Jersey Shore Thrift Shop, Oceanport Library Association and at St. Dorothea’s Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joan’s memory to the Church of St. Dorothea.
