Richard "RJ" W. Mangold, Jr., 23, of Manasquan, died suddenly, on September 3, 2017. RJ was born in Red Bank, NJ to Tabatha Dowens and Richard W. Mangold, Sr. He grew up in Middletown, NJ. RJ attended Red Bank Catholic High school where he was a member of the RBC ice hockey team. For many years, he also played travel ice hockey for the Red Bank Generals. RJ will be remembered for his witty sense of humor, his gentleness, kindness and finding the “funny” in everything and everyone. Those who knew him well will remember his love of music, buffalo wings and being a connoisseur of just the right blue cheese dressing.
RJ is survived by his son; Brayden Mangold, grandmother; Jean Mangold, father; Richard W. Mangold, Sr. and his wife, Edna, his mother; Tabatha Dowens and her children, Nicole and Sonny, fiancé; Sara Spoto, sister and brother-in-law; Meghan and Anthony Perrone and their daughter; Natalie, step-sister; Adrienne Padula, future mother-in-law; Gail Johnson and a host of relatives and friends.
Family and friends may visit on Sat., Sept. 9th from 1-5pm at the Braun Funeral Home, 106 Broad St., Eatontown. A celebration of Life will take place at 4pm. Interment will be private.
